#NationalChurchSafetyMonth - October

With fall officially being here and winter right around the corner, SERVPRO of Marion, Adair and Russell wants to encourage local churches to be aware and participate in #NationalChurchSafetyMonth!

Every church has a different set up, and some may be smaller or larger than others. No matter your size, there are things you can do to help prevent or minimize damage from happening when it comes to disasters happening.  A few quick things you can do are listed below:

• Clear paths to all building exits
• Post cooking safety tips in kitchen areas
• Check to make sure any candles in the church are safe

After completing these few smaller tasks, SERVPRO can also help you go a little more in depth by completing a free Emergency Ready Profile on each of your church buildings. Participating and working through this program as a church can reduce the change of damage and can dramatically reduce the amount of damage that happens during an actual emergency.

After meeting and doing a walkthrough of the property, our local marketing representative will put together this plan and then deliver it at a convenient time. The ERP information is also saved on an app that can be shared with whoever the church needs it to be.  This way whoever is there when a disaster happens has the ability to access the important information.
